Recently, survivors and CTJMF staff went on a landscaping tour to imagine the role that landscaping can play in the Chicago Torture Justice Memorial and how we can keep the space accessible to all.
We toured Dorchester Arts Housing, Kenwood Gardens, the Burnham at Woodlawn Park, and the Arts Lawn to think about how different materials, shapes, and plants could support and extend the values of the memorial.
We were so grateful for this opportunity to build community with other organizations in the Washington Park/Woodlawn area who are using space and design to express and share their values
